Huntington Angels Network

UI/UX Website Branding Identity

Huntington Angels Network (HAN) is a student-led organization at Northeastern University that connects Northeastern-affiliated start-ups with angel investors and venture capitalists.

As part of a studio with Scout, we worked to increase professionalism and credibility through their website and brand identity. The goal was to be more user-friendly and assessable to their clients, investors, and students.

Ideation Process

We started the process with a series of exercises to begin the direction where the website and brand would lead. By doing multiple early-stage activities, we were able to understand the needs the website would fulfill as well as the voice HAN wanted to present itself to the various stockholders. One of the exercises we worked on was personality levers, where everyone involved determined the traits of the website and the identity of the organization.

Every week we met with the clients to debrief and update the status of the project, as well as receive feedback from their team. We provided multiple mood boards in order to capture the aesthetics and treatment of information and imagery used for the organization. These mood boards captured a very exciting and eye-catching approach to design while keeping a clean and minimalist approach to the overall structure.

Wireframing

After consulting our clients, and determining the way the site would be navigated and how users would use this site, we started to build out each site within a tight timeframe. We really wanted to focus on the three main users: investors, ventures, and students. Each user has different needs and therefore has different takeaways from HAN. This site was meant to highlight HAN for each of those users.

Final Design

In the final design stages, we’ve worked on finetuning the wireframes, as well as implementing the design visual directions, color block overlays, and imagery. While working on the final wireframes, we wanted to make the website feel both welcoming and friendly, but also professional and respectable for a website aimed at ventures and startups.
